Our Mission Statement

Free Rein Equine Therapy is a passion brought to life by the combined love of horses and people. We believe that there is divine healing in the connection between humans and horses and desire for others to experience the powerful ways that horses can heal and restore. We are a faith-based organization that walks alongside people of all lifestyles, backgrounds, and beliefs. We chose our name because ‘free rein’ signifies the complete freedom to act without restrictions. We encourage both our clients and our horses to show up as their authentic selves, believing that the first step in true healing comes from being met exactly where you are at. Our hope is to provide a sanctuary where individuals who have experienced trauma and hardships can find peace, clarity, and connection within the herd, ultimately working towards healing and freedom.

Equine therapy sessions at Free Rein Stables are completely ground-based. We find that it is easiest for both the horses and the clients to show up as authentically as possible without the added pressures and distractions of riding. These therapy sessions are largely guided by the client, with licensed therapists and equine specialists present to ask relevant questions and ensure the safety of both the client and the herd. However, we believe that the client already has the ability to discover their own answers, and when given the time, space and freedom, can experience breakthroughs and healing with minimal outside influence.

Sometimes the best therapists have four legs, a swishing tail, and a free spirit.

Where are we located?

We are located in Brighton, Colorado, just 30 minutes northeast of Denver! We have a small herd of horses, as well as an arena for equine therapy sessions, and an office space for other forms of therapy such as EMDR and neurofeedback!
